Half a rainbow
Appeared out my back window
Over the grey mountains
Arguing with the wind
Encouraging the snow to move on
Half the valley bathes in the brilliant sunlight
Clouds covering its hips in blue
Hummingbirds are back
The woodpeckers never left
Slowly a grey envelops the yucca trees
The olive trees wave and bend
As in a mosh pit of weather
Their silver and green leaves glitter
Grape vines poking their heads through dormancy
Joshua Trees dot the landscape like stop lights
As it gets darker and darker
Snow floats down but the pogoing wind
Turns it to rain before it hits the ground
As
The elements creep in at a snails pace
And
The sun keeps punching through
Saying
Spring
Has
Sprung
