Drinking expensive Cabernet wearing my dads
Once
Expensive sweater
Now threadbare
But functional
I’m
In someone else’s expensive house
Watching an expensive view
Knowing beauty is free
Corny but true
And it’s everywhere
I’m caring for one parent
Haven’t seen the other in years
Can you guess who
His kids wore hand-me-downs
He wore Brooks Brothers
Broken and abused family
Of the 70’s
Nobody cared about what was unjust
Now people screaming a bit too loudly
About
What is just life
I wouldn’t exchange my life for anyone else’s
I just wish I could smoke weed.
