Decorating

Someone else’s tree

Alone

Again

The silence

Can be deafening

They say

And I noticed

It getting louder

With nobody to call

There was nothing

To share

So I turned up the music

And sang

Without shame

I won’t be

Defeated

That easily

Solitary confinement

Only strengthens

My resolve

And returns

What

I let others

Take away.

Sing with

Abandon

That’s what I say.

My fairytale of New York…
