Some friend tried to introduce me to Superman the other night
The next day I saw him on a bluff
He was friendly enough
It was dawn after all
I walked on
Trying to not fall
Over my jaw.
Mornings bring strange meetings.
One tries to carry on joy
Throughout the day
But
Dangers are everywhere
Even at the bakery
Beware!
Slow down
Stop running stop signs
Seriously
It’s a symptom
Of something larger,
Scarier,
And
Permanent.
Even Superman meditates
He knows cryptonite
Comes
In
Many
Forms.
Stop running stop signs.
Must you be reminded it’s the journey
Not the destination?
I’m embarrassed to have to remind you.
Superman knows.
I know.
You know too.
