At sunrise
And sunset
The sun
And the moon
Meet
To catch
Each other
Up
On their existence.
The ferocity
Of the heat,
The intensity
Of the pull,
All accepted –
Then forgotten.
For its just the passing
Of time;
Once it’s happened
It’s happened,
Then it’s gone.
So much
Worry
So much
Fear –
Then it’s over
Then it’s gone.
Discussing the memory,
Licking the wounds,
Laughing at the scars.
A curtsy,
A wink of the eye,
A hug,
And a kiss
Goodbye
They pass each other
With a knowing nod
Happy to be able
To try
Again.
It’s in the trying
That comes
The doing
Eventually…
With luck…
Or at least a lesson
Is learned.
So wear a dashing hat
In the day
And close
The curtain
At night.
Watch them rise
And fall
But never look
Into their
Eyes
Directly
Or you
Will go
Mad.
It’s The Journey Stupidhead!
