Leaving the city at dawn
It is peaceful
With hues of pink
Over New Jersey
There is a cloud
That looks strangely like
Mr Limpet
As Newark approaches scenery goes from kind to cruel
But it’s all perspective
Freight cars in blue red and green
Trucks and industry as far as the eye can see
You’d like it if it were a painting
Or a movie from the 70s.
Open up your golden gates
I’m going home
Right back where I started from.

I’m not sure where the self doubt came from, (and I’m battling it) but I’ve been reticent to post. I’ve been writing though so at some point I will probably barrage you with my meanderings! As always, thank you for your encouragement.
