staying in bed all day with one you love.
sleeping, talking, dreaming, laughing, crying
and other things.
from most accounts the longer together
the less this occurs. how sad.
must we eventually
force intimacy on each other?
where once it came with the gesture of a hand,
a look in the eye,
the tenderness of voice:
a live, unidentifiable energy that spoke
to your heart over thousands of miles
all the oceans
that rare current brought you together,
go find it.
even if it rips your body apart.

In the famous words of some singer… “Love…” you can fill in the rest.
pick a singer, any singer…
Very touchingly worded – excellently prepared.
Thank you – it came to me quite rapidly. That crazy muse.

Gorgeous. I love how you ended the poem with “go find it” and “even if it rips your body apart.”
Thank you. Just felt right.
According to Siri Love is a strong positive emotion of regard and affection. And your poem hits it on the nail.
Alas you are far more eloquent. Far more.
